Our Op Shop operates out of the church building every Thursday and Friday and offers quality goods at cheap prices. The primary focus of the Op Shop is to raise funds for the benefit of the needy in our local community.

News from the op-shop team

The DCRC Op- Shop offers good quality merchandise at very reasonable prices and offer hospitality over a cup of tea, coffee, cake and if required a chat. The shop is set up in the Church Hall for trading on Thursdays and Fridays. We are blessed way beyond expectation with our donations which come to us via- Word of mouth, stating our purpose to support those organisations/ministries, who look after the marginalized, the homeless, and the needy in our society. This “good cause”, call it charity, goes down well with people and more often than not, we are inundated with a variety of good, second hand clothing and general items.  Sometimes we receive brand new donations from Retail shops – donated because the owners, in their words “Like what we do”, ranging from, suits, slacks, shirts, shorts, shoes, jewellery, funky giftware etc. We were recently even able to launch our “Brand New arrivals”, with one off extended trading hours to which the shoppers responded beyond our expectations. It is hard work, but the rewards and blessings are amazing.

The main benefactors of the Op-shop’s takings are local organisations look after those who find life tough and depend on assistance, purely to exist/survive.  Shawland’s Workgroup, Transit –Narre Warren, Corner Stone – Dandenong, Handbrake Turn, to name a few.

Our op-shop team is well aware of our calling to be His instruments, spelled out in God’s word, Matthew 25 : 35, “For I was hungry and you gave me to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you visited me” and  verse 40, “ I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me”. We strive to make a difference and be a shining light in the darkness of a broken world, serving Him, as willing servants.
