About us
Good News
We celebrate the Good News that God has done everything to bring us into a relationship with Him through His Son Jesus. All of us need Jesus. You may be thinking, ‘Why do I need Jesus?’ Well, let’s look at our problem and why we need Him…
- All of us have a past. Romans chapter 3 verse 23 says ‘For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God’.
- Sin has a price. Romans chapter 6 verse 23 says ‘For the wages of sin is death.’ Death means separation from God forever.
But there is Good News!
- Jesus paid for our sin. Romans chapter 5 verse 8 says ‘But God demonstrated His own love for us in this, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.’
- We need to repent of our sin and believe in Jesus. Romans chapter 10 verse 9 says ‘That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.’ The word ‘believe’ here means to entrust your life completely over to Jesus. In other words, you make Jesus the Lord of your life.
When we repent of our sins and believe in Jesus, our sins are forgiven and we receive the gift of eternal life to enjoy now and for eternity.

What we believe.
- We believe that the Bible is the authoritative, inspired Word of God.
- We hold to the historic Creeds shared by Christian Churches, (the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed and the Athanasian Creed), and the Confessions (Heidelberg Catechism, Belgic Confession, Canons of Dordt and the Westminster Confession) as an accurate summary of the teachings of God’s Word.
- We come under the Christian Reformed Churches of Australia, a denomination which has a vision to be continually ‘reforming to reach the lost for Christ’. Read more at crca.org.au
- Our denomination’s ministry work, news, and resources to help churches and leaders can be found at ministryformation.com.au
- We identify ourselves with the Protestant Reformation – a movement in the 1500-1600s – which saw churches strive to ground their faith and life completely in God’s word, as opposed to church Tradition or human reason.
- We believe that the Bible is the actual Word of God, which is trustworthy in every respect and therefore is our only rule for matters of faith and life.
- We believe that we are saved by Christ alone.
- We believe that God gifts us salvation by His amazing grace alone.
- We believe that we receive the gift of eternal life by faith in Jesus alone.
- We believe that all of life should be directed to God’s glory
- We believe that Christ is our King, the Head and Saviour of His church.
- We believe that Christ has called us to be His People, living out faith in His Church and in His Kingdom.
- Our church is governed by the Church Council, comprising Elders (including our Pastor).
- Our Diaconate help practically care for those in need.
- Our mission is to guide people of all backgrounds into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Children are an important part our church and we foster procedures to keep our children safe.
Our Leaders
Our Church Council consists of our Elders, Pastor (teaching Elder) and Diaconate who are elected by the congregation, usually for a three-year term. The Elders are responsible for governance and pastoral oversight of the congregation, while the Diaconate are responsible for practically caring for the needs of members in and outside our church family.
Pastor Michael and Jenny de Kretser joined us after serving at our sister church Casey for nearly twelve years. Michael is a passionate preacher of God’s Word and the Good News of Jesus and His saving love, loves to care and disciple people, play guitar or drums and sing with Jenny in our music team.
